The Island of Lombok has a lot to offer, from fantastic nature, production of pottery, weavings and baskets, interesting anthropology and history. We can adjust any tour according to your interests. Rinjani Trekking can be organised in the appropriate season for the fit and healthy. Visits to isolated minority groups, such as the Buddhist communities, can be arranged.

6 –Day Tour

Pick up from airport. Check into hotel near the Batu Bolong Temple right on the beach. Relax

Day 1) Cultural experience in an isolated area in North West Lombok. Overnight in a fabulous guesthouse with fascinating views near Mount Rinjani.

Day 2) After breakfast view the oldest mosque in Lombok and proceed to the pristine East Lombok coast. In the afternoons you will see a place significant for Lombok’s economy. Overnight in a hotel on the beach.

Day 3) Snorkel the best reefs in East Lombok or just laze around on one of the white sand atolls before leaving the coast.

Day 4) Off to East Lombok’s tobacco and rice growing area. Stay in one of Lombok’s most stunning cultural heritage area surrounded by tropical agriculture. Be surprised in the evenings.

Day 5) Visit of a school and mingle with the locals. Rice terrace walk or visit a weaving community.

Day 6) Leave for Mataram. Before heading back to your hotel, have lunch in one of Mataram’s outstanding cafes. Overnight in your Hotel.

WEST SUMBAWA

West Sumbawa is one of 7 rural regencies in NTB and represents the smallest regency in terms of size and population. It is also the most pristine and untouched area and therefore ideal to discover quiet, unspoilt beaches, relatively unknown history and fantastic local arts and crafts. West Sumbawa also comprises of one of the world’s largest copper and gold mines located at Batu Hijau near Maluk. Mine visits can be arranged on request.

7-Day Tour

Pick up from your Lombok Hotel or straight from the airport to the ferry in East Lombok which brings you to West Sumbawa. Alternatively this tour can start with a relaxation day on the East Lombok coast.

Day1) Take the ferry from Labuan Lombok to Poto Tano and proceed to Taliwang, the capital of the regency West Sumbawa. On the way visit Lake Lebo, a natural proof of the geographical Wallace Line. O/N in Taliwang, Beach Resort.

Day 2) Visit a fairly isolated weaving community producing fine cloth on traditional handlooms. Lunch in the weaving village. Proceed to Jelenga Beach, one of West Sumbawa’s finest stretch of beach, and overnight in simple beach huts with friendly local service.

Day 3) Jelenga Beach

Day 4) Proceed to Maluk. Option of visiting the Newmont gold and copper mine.

Day 5) & Day 6) Proceed to Sekotong. More fantastic beaches and jungles. Soft trekking.

Day 7) Return to Lombok. On the way visit one of West Sumbawa’s old historical graves. Back to your Hotel in Lombok.

Sumbawa Island & Komodo ISLAND

Sumbawa Island with its volcano, Mt Tambora, offers adventurous trekking, wonderful natural forests, archeological sites, fantastic beaches, arts and crafts and interesting Dutch colonial heritage. Unfortunately Sumbawa is ignored by most tourists who usually proceed straight to Eastern Indonesia.

If you chose to tour the entire island of Sumbawa we recommend a visit to the Komodo Islands, one of Indonesia’s famous national parks featuring the Komodo Dragon, a large monitor.

Tambora Trekking can be arranged in the appropriate season for the fit and healthy.

8-Day Grand Tour Sumbawa-Komodo

Day 1) From your hotel in Lombok you will proceed to the ferry which brings you to Sumbawa. On to Kencana Beach Resort. On the way visit Hindu historical sites.

Day 2) Sumbawa Besar, a city with a great historical past. Visit the Sultan’s Palace. Further interesting cultural surprises. Back to Kencana.

Day 3) Off to the regency of Dompu and to beautiful Lakey Beach.

Day 4) Excursion to Ranggo village, famous for its weaving community. Have lunch in the village. Back to Lakey Beach.

Day 5) Proceed to Bima. This city has a distinctive Arabic flavor, an impressive harbour, oriental night markets and a vast history. O/N in Bima.

Day 6) Proceed to Wawo Maria and stay in an old Dutch colonial manor inclusive full board. Walk to the traditional Lumbungs (rice barns), visit the area’s craftsmen and go for a refreshing swim in a pool fed with spring water.

Day 7) Early in the morning proceed to Sape, the most eastern point of Sumbawa. Board your private vessel and leave for the magnificent island world of Komodo. O/N on board of your vessel. All meals included.

Day 8) Back to Bima to catch the flight back to Lombok. Depending on flight schedules you might have to stay an additional night in Bima.
