Badung Regency


Badung is Bali's southernmost regency and home to some of the island's best-known tourists destinations. Performing arts, including dance, gamelan orchestra and shadow puppetry, also play an important role in the social and spiritual life of Badung. Performances tell dramatic tales from Balinese history or present comics takes on Balinese life. Many hotels invite local groups to perform for their guests, often a bridging or translating performances to make them more accessible. As in the rest of Bali, in Badung the arts are woven into religious life, and visitors who are lucky enough to witness a temple ceremony also stand a chance of seeing an unforgetable presentation of traditional musics and dances.
